Research Summary

 

We use a multidisciplinary approach that ranges from in vitro functional and biochemical assays, to cell biology based studies on immortalized and primary cell lines. Our main research themes are:

1. The impact of galectins on platelet biology.
2. The physiological and pathological role of platelets in a variety of cellular processes, including inflammation, angiogenesis and cancer.
3. The events that underlie megakaryocytopoiesis and platelet formation.
4. The pathogenic mechanisms involved in the hematological complications present in Argentine Hemorrhagic fever.
